3 Days In!

This has turned out better than expected!
I've made quite a few contacts so far, and had some great conversations. Many Amateur Radio Operators have a spot in their hearts for history and patriotism. Many are also shooters. I've talked with more people on the radio who are familiar with Project Appleseed than I have at any show where we had a table...

The good news is that the various sites where we've posted info have had lots of views as well. I wonder if Paul Revere felt the same way on April 19th so many years ago?

Being able to communicate our shared American History to others is a rewarding and worthwhile task.

What do Amateur Radio and Paul Revere have in common?

Communication is what they have in common. Paul Revere was a communicator. Not just on one "midnight ride" (made famous in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem). Paul made many such rides before the night of April 18th, 1775. Some of his rides were as long as 60 miles... He was quite a horseman, and scrappy too! What if Paul had the availability of better comms gear than a horse? Perhaps less secure than using a courier of a verbal message, as he was on those occasions. Paul Revere and his "Mechanics" did have a digital means of communication, which was implemented by one Robert Neuman. Yes, the lights in the steeple of the church at the North end of town. He was one of two people with keys to the belfry, the other being the pastor and a staunch tori! Project Appleseed  Gets the message out as well, by hosting family friendly weekend events .
